Ethiopia is the oldest coffee exporter in the world; coffee has been a commodity there since before Y1500.
Today Ethiopia produces some 250.000 tons of coffee of which more than 100.000 tons or 3% of the world trade is exported. Ethiopian coffee is rightly known as highland coffee, it has a great deal to offer in the way of gourmet, specialty and organic coffees. Yirgacheffe is grown in the south of Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee is one of the most sought after finest highland grown (2000-2200 metres) Ethiopian coffee, rich in acidity and body. It possesses an aromatic and sweet flavour and is characterised by winey, fruity notes and the world famous mocha tastes, so highly prized by connoisseurs. Because it has so much to offer it can be enjoyed as a single varietal.
We hope that you will enjoy this special coffee as much as we enjoyed sourcing and roasting this superb bean variety.
ENJOY!
