It’s a common sight throughout all of Indonesia when searching for Arabica coffee: busy one-way roads that twist and turn through numerous rice fields, climbing higher into the mountains. Local drivers traveling at crazy speeds coming directly towards you, and let’s not forget the hundreds of locals who insist in mobbing your car as you pass through their village. Well guess what, Java is no exception!
At the end of your journey you arrive in the region Ijen located on a narrow strip of land with beautiful coastline and volcanoes which make for quite a view.
Nowadays almost all movement of coffee is done by rail from here. Grown at around 5500 feet above sea level the Arabica coffee bean was introduced by the Dutch, along with their meticulous agricultural techniques. The deep, rich soils combined with the steep slopes of the Java hills, conspire to make this truly great coffee growing country.
The taste of this Java Arabica coffee is described as perfect, known for its heavy body yet exquisite low acidity, and chocolate like after tones. Unlike its other Indonesian neighbors, Javanese coffee doesn’t have a “dirty or “earthy” nature which is another definite plus.
This bean we take to delicate medium roast producing one of the most flavorsome cups to date. Java is now recognised as one of the finest gourmet coffee producers in the world.. and is available now!
ENJOY!
