Twenty-one Years in the Making.
In the late eighties the young Alex Kok (aka the Koffee Baron) worked in Papua New Guinea where he was introduced to Central Highland coffee. It was love at first sip but his job as hotel manager drew him away from his beloved Koroka coffee and he was dispatched to other resorts around the world, many in significant coffee growing regions where his love of coffee only intensified.
On arriving in Western Australia, not long after purchasing his first coffee roaster Alex contacted coffee importers, HA Bennett & Sons, for some timely advice. They arranged an excursion and an introduction to Indian Tiger Mountain coffee. This was to be another significant milestone at the very outset of Yahava KoffeeWork’s burgeoning growth. Yahava to this day has close ties with the owners and the workers of these magnificent highland estates.
Adventuring and motorcycle riding has always been in the Baron’s blood. Over the years he has scrambled through most of the world’s impressive equatorial coffee belt. But it was only three years ago, while traveling through El Salvador that the Baron happened upon a coffee to rival all others, but that is another story.
If there was a blend that could tell the Yahava story, then this is it. Three great coffees, twenty-one years in the making. This coffee blend is a real-life adventure you can taste.
