Description
The 2022 STORM is a blend of two washed coffees that have been grown a continent apart: a Colombian Huila grown at 2,150 metres and another high grown coffee, the Papua New Guinean Apo Angra Kange, grown at 1,500 metres above sea level. The PNG coffees are grown by small farm holders who work together in co-operatives, while in contrast many of the Colombian small holding farmers have wet mills on their own properties. They process their harvests independently, something that involves a huge amount of work, but the outcomes are wonderfully complex coffees. It is exciting to see the development of sustainable practices in both these countries driven by an absolute passion for coffee and the will to create an even better quality product. While these coffees couldn’t have been grown further apart, the dedication of these farmers to producing a world class products, brings these coffees together and is proof indeed, that things really are looking up.
Brewed and served black: you will enjoy rich, juicy red berry sweetness underneath an earthy chocolate body. It is a coffee with low acidity with a gentle lingering finish. Served with milk you will experience red velvet cake, smooth milk chocolate, sweet pastry, ground almond and macaroon flavours.
