Description
Vanilla Tea
Botanical: Camellia Sinensis
Origin: China
Health Benefits: This green tea has undergone very little oxidizing so it retains many valuable nutrients. This includes catechins, an antioxidant present in this brew,
helping our body process what we eat and drink and aiding digestion. As well as a
detoxifying effect, these natural substances help burn fat and improve brain function.
Vanilla is a native Mexican orchid that produces a seed pod with the world famous flavour and is deemed to be the second most expensive herb on the planet, behind saffron. It is difficult to grow and a very labour intensive crop (it requires hand pollination) but it is also one of the most sought after flavours in the world. Called the ‘Dessert Blend’, Vanilla green is a light and crisp blend of green tea and vanilla bean. Less floral and woodier than the other flavoured greens, the pleasant bouquet and the flavour of vanilla
remain constantly refreshing.
Brewing Vanilla Tea
To achieve the best brew, we recommend steeping 1 teaspoon of Yahava’s Vanilla Green Tea in 220 ml of near-boiling water at 85°c for about 2 minutes.
The Monarch Butterfly
Danaus plexippus
Possibly the most famous of butterflies, these Milkweed Monarchs are extraordinary
long-distance flyers. In autumn they fly from Canada for thousands of kilometres to
overwinter in Mexico where they come home to the rare and valuable vanilla orchid.
But, it takes 3 generations of butterflies to make this incredible trip.
